Ingredients

What you need:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion chopped up
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ¼ tsp cayenne optional
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp butter or oil
  • 4-6 hamburger buns toasted

Instructions

How to make it:

  • 1. Heat oil in big pan on medium-high
  • 2. Cook the beef and break it up into pieces, like 4-5 mins
  • 3. Add onions, cook for 2-3 mins
  • 4. Add garlic, cook 30 seconds
  • 5. Add ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire, mustard, paprika, cayenne
  • 6. Pour in beef broth, mix it all together
  • 7. Let it simmer for 5-7 mins until it gets thicker
  • 8. Toast your buns
  • 9. Spoon the meat on the buns and add whatever toppings you want

Notes

Keeping it: Put leftovers in a container in the fridge for like 3 days, or freeze it for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight and reheat when you want it.
